Officers discovered 533.9 grams of marijuana, 25.4 grams of heroin, 35 grams of mushrooms, 13 pills believed to be morphine sulfate and 90 pills believed to be carisoprodol, according to police officials.
On Thursday, Alice police officers conducted a routine traffic stop on the 800 block of South Reynolds. They made contact with 56-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Coventry.
Officers had information that Coventry was in possession of narcotics at his residence located on the 1300 of Edith. Coventry admitted to officers that he had the narcotics at his home and cooperated with the investigation.
After receiving consent to search the residence, police seized a large amount of narcotics, packaging material used to package narcotics for distribution and a digital scale used to weigh narcotics for distribution, according to police officials.
Coventry was charged with four counts of manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, and one count of possession of marijuana.
Coventry was processed and booked into the Jim Wells County jail.
