Edinburg, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley arrested three sexual predators and two Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members.
On Monday, Rio Grande City agents encountered and apprehended a Mexican national attempting to enter the United States illegally near Roma, Texas. His records revealed that he was previously convicted in the 339th District Court of Harris County, Texas, for two counts of indecency with child and sentenced to eight years confinement.
That same day, Rio Grande City agents arrested a United States citizen involved in a smuggling case. His criminal records revealed a previous arrest by the Zapata Texas County Sheriff’s Office for indecency with a child. The man was convicted and sentenced to eight years confinement.
Yesterday, McAllen agents arrested a Salvdoran national near Hidalgo, Texas. His record checks revealed an arrest in September 2017, by the Hempstead Village, New York, Police Department and charged with sexual contact with a person less than 14 years old.
Early this morning, Falfurrias agents apprehended a Salvadoran national whose records confirmed is an MS-13 gang member.
Also this morning, Rio Grande City agents apprehended a Salvadoran national near Roma, Texas. During processing, his record checks revealed the subject is an identified MS-13 gang member.
All subjects will be processed accordingly.
