WASHINGTON - San Diego High School graduate Robert Moncada recently traveled to Washington, D.C. for a Turning Point USA's High School Leadership Summit.
For four days, the Class of 2018 grad joined approximately 700 other high schools students to listen to some of the nation's most well-known conservative leaders and activists, receive first-class activism and leadership training, and network with other attendees and organizations from all across the country.
"I learned a lot from this summit. It truly was an experience," Moncada said. "the ideas of conservatism and capitalism truly are the basis for an American citizen. Out there in the real world there are going to be intolerable people with the wrong ideals who are attempting to ruin the freedoms this country was built upon."
This year’s conference took place from July 23-27, 2018 at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Notable speakers included Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Parkland Shooting survivor Kyle Kashuv, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, Fox News Jesse Watters, former Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Senator Orrin Hatch, Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban, Eric Bolling, and many other special speakers.
On July 24, Moncada also attended a dinner at the Trump Hotel Presidential Ballroom with platform speakers such as Donald Trump Jr., Judge Jeanine Piro and Senator Rand Paul.
Moncada currently attends St. Mary’s University in San Antonio studying political science.
