After three hours of deliberation a jury found Cristobal Garcia guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child and sentenced him to 20 years in a Texas prison Wednesday.

Garcia was arrested in 2013 when his stepdaughter made an outcry of inappropriate behavior.

According to Assistant District Attorney Margie Flores, the victim, who was six-years-old at the time, and her sister were ready for their night time bath when a bruise was seen on her private area. The victim told her mother about an incident that occurred when Garcia was babysitting the sisters.

The victim took the stand during the three-day trial to testify against Garcia. The victim's mother and sister also took the stand.

A scientist from the criminal lab presented the court with crucial DNA evidence linking Garcia to the incident.

Garcia was taken to the Jim Wells County jail to wait transport to a Texas prison.
