ROBSTOWN – Robstwon city officials held a press conference Saturday afternoon to discuss the shooting that occurred Friday evening that left five people dead.

No names were released and police are asking to respect the family as they mourn. Police said counseling for staff would be available.

Three people were found dead Friday at the Retama Nursing Center located at 603 E. Avenue J and two others were discovered at the suspect's residence on Highway 44.

Police were dispatched to the nursing home at about 7 p.m. in reference to an active shooter.

According to the release, Robstown Police Chief Erasmo Flores confirmed that two males and one female were found dead when police arrived.

Police than discovered two other individuals were killed at a residence belonging to the suspect.

The suspect shot himself inside the nursing home.

The case is still under investigation.
