SAN DIEGO - Law enforcement officers took their annual refresher course in first aid and CPR.

On Monday, officers from San Diego and Falfurrias Police Departments, Duval and Brooks County Sheriff's Offices relearned how to preform life-saving techniques they need to help individuals who may be unresponsive.

San Diego Fire Chief Juan Soliz is also certified to train the officers through the American Heart Association.

"You never know when you'll have to use these skills to save someone's life," Soliz said.

Soliz showed the officers exactly how to perform CPR. He also demonstrated how the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used for adults and children.
