FALFURRIAS - During two separate narcotic investigations in Falfurrias netted drugs, money and weapons on Wednesday, June 27 that landed four individuals behind bars.
The first narcotics investigation had agents with the Central South Texas Criminal Investigative Unit (CSTCIU) along with Duval County Sheriff’s Office, City of Falfurrias assisted the Brooks County Sheriffs’ Office that led to a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of approximately more than 240 grams of synthetic marijuana, 15 Xanex bars, three ounces of liquid THC, precursors, tools and equipment indicative of the manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Agents also seized approximately $200.
Agents arrested of two individuals Ezequio Rene "Zeek" Martinez and Hazel Lynn Rios. Six children were also present during the execution of the search warrant. They were released to family members. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services was later contacted.
Two men, Emede Chavera and Rene Chavera, were arrested during the second narcotics investigation. Agents with the CSTCIU along with Duval County Sheriff’s Office, City of Falfurrias, US Border Patrol assisted the Brooks County Sheriffs’ Office with the investigation.
The search warrant was on the 500 block of Candela that resulted in the seizure of approximately 255 grams of cocaine, tools and equipment indicative of the manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Agents also seized of approximately $4,900 along with numerous weapons and ammunition.
Individuals arrested were booked into the Brooks County jail.
