Coastal Bend College hosts an annual Kids College during the hot summer months so some children can continue to learn throughout the summer.
Kids College is a two week program focused on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) at all campus locations that started on Monday.
This year, participating students were given a lesson on nature, said instructor Sandra Silva.
What better why to learn about nature than to eat it? The Kids College students from the Alice site used cookies, pudding and gummy worms to make Worms in Dirt.
Kids followed Silva's step-by-step instructions on how to make their dessert before they got the chance to consume it.
The kids will be going on a nature trip and make an ecosystem on certain insects.
