In less than a minute children of all ages collected approximately 12,000 plastic eggs on Friday at the first Easter egg hunt of the 2018 holiday season at the Anderson Park.

There were goodies, refreshments and toys were also given away. The event was hosted by Roxy and Tacho Riojas. Special appearances were made by the Easter Bunny, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Princess Poppy, Paw Patrol and more.

There are more Easter egg hunts in the area that children can participate at no charge. 

Jim Wells County

March 24

The 19th annual Cactus 4H Community Easter Celebration will be held on March 24 at the Premont Library Park from 11 a.m. till 2p.m. Easter baskets will be provided. Easter egg hunts will be for children and senior citizens.

Abundant Life Christian Church located at 2489 North Texas Boulevard in Alice will have their Easter Eggstravaganza on March 24 from 12 p.m. till 4 p.m.

March 25

Immanuel Lutheran Church will be hosting their Easter Egg Hunt on March 25 starting at 11:30 a.m. Children are to provide their own basket. The church is located at 1400 North Texas Boulevard in Alice.

A Easter egg hunt in Tecolote is scheduled for March 25 at 505 County Road 120. The egg hunt starts at 4 p.m. and kids are encouraged to bring a basket. The event is sponsored by Margie Gonzalez, precinct 1 commissioner.

March 30

The Alice High School Junior Police Academy will host their third annual Easter egg hunt for the city on March 30 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Veterans Park in Alice. There will be candy and prizes for children ages 2 to 10. For more information email the JPA at juanf.garcia@aliceisd.net.

An Easter egg hunt hosted by Vela-Loftin Dental Center will be on March 30 at 11 a.m. The dental center is located at 1165 East. Main Street, between H-E-B and Dairy Queen. Children up to the age of 10 can participate in the egg hunt, but must bring their own basket. For more information call 361-664-8352.

Silver Star will have their annual Easter egg hunt on March 30 starting at 3 p.m. Children, up to the age of 11, are asked to bring their own basket. The store is located at 909 South Cameron in Alice.

Duval County

March 24

The City of Benavides will host its first Easter EggSTRAVAGANZA on March 24 at Veterans Memorial Park. The event is from 12 p.m. till 4 p.m. and is sponsored hosted by the City of Benavides.

The City of San Diego will have their community Easter Egg Hunt on March 24 at the Padre Pedro Park, across the city hall from 10 a.m. till 12 p.m. Children ages 2 to 10 can participate.
