Man steals prime ribs
Mark Meru was arrested Monday on the 1100 block of East Main Street. Officers were dispatched to the business for a man who stole five packages of prime rib valued at $176.10. Meru had hidden the packages under his shirt and walked out the door. Meru was charged with theft over $100 and booked into the Jim Wells County jail.
Officers were dispatched to a business on the 500 block of North Johnson in reference to a theft on Friday. According to an employee, Arnold Trevino was seen on surveillance video putting items into his pants. Trevino and a woman walked out of the store. An assisting officer stopped the couple on North Goliad Street. Trevino was discovered with six shampoo bottles valued at $26 in his pants. Trevino were taken to the JWC jail. Trevino was charged with theft of property over $100 with previous convictions.
On Thursday, during routine patrol Officer Juan Reyes observed a vehicle at a residence on the 700 block of South Cameron Street who, from previous incidents, did not belong on the property. Reyes made contact with Kristian Santos who stated she was there to pick up her common law husband. She told Reyes she had dropped her common law husband at the residence after learning her common law husband was calling another woman.
Police spoke with Santos’ common law husband and his father who both claimed they were in fear for their safety after Santos made comments about stabbing someone and burning down the father’s house. Police arrested Santos and transported her to the JWC jail. She was charged with terroristic threats.
