Jim Wells County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Thursday, March 1 with the driver of a silver 2010 Ford Focus.
When the deputy conducted a traffic stop he noticed the passenger Jo Vanna Sanchez, 24, was holding a 2-year-old child.
The deputy detected a strong odor of marijuana from the vehicle. When Sanchez was asked to step out of the vehicle the deputy observed a bag of narcotics sticking out of her pocket, according to investigators.
Deputies confiscated less than 2 ounces of marijuana, 22 grams of cocaine and 22 grams of Xanax.
Family members picked up the child. Sanchez was transported to the JWC jail and charged with manufacturing and delivery of a control substance, possession of a dangerous drug, possession of marijuana, and abandoned endangerment of child criminal negligence.
