Former Alice Coyote running back and 2016 Alice High School graduate Oscar Camarillo recently complete the LVN program at Brightwood College in Corpus Christi.

Camarillo plans to continue his nursing education as he pursues his RN certification.

His decision to become a nurse was inspired by his two years in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) at AHS.

"My biggest influences during my journey to becoming a nurse (were) my parents Oscar and Joyce who always believed in me, and also helped me financially and emotionally every step of the way," Camarillo stated. "but also two of my high school HOSA teachers who are very special to me. I can't thank them enough for being my mentors. I definitely wouldn't have made it this far without them, thank you Mrs. Lorena Vasquez and Mrs. Jenney Karasek."
