Texas Association of School Board is asking the public for their input as the begin to search for a new superintendent for the Alice Independent School District.

The search begins after Dr. Alma Charles resigned from the position after approximately five months.The board appointed Guillermo Ruiz as interim superintendent until the another superintendent is hired.

TASB is holding three meetings on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Alice ISD Central Board Room. The first meeting is for all school employees from 4 p.m. till 5 p.m. The two other meetings are for the community; one starts at 5 p.m. and the other at 6 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to help the firm find characteristics the public and administration believe candidates for the superintendent position should acquire. This is one of several steps the firm will conduct before presenting the school board with applicants.
