Alex Gonzalez caught the attention of an Investigator with the Alice Police Department on Friday afternoon.

As the investigator was traveling west on the 1300 block of East Main Street he observed a gray SUV swerving and switching lanes, several times, without using his turn signal.

Gonzalez passed the officer and continued down East Main Street. At the intersection of Main Street and Texas Boulevard Gonzalez passed the investigator.

When Gonzalez reached the lights at East Main and Front Street he ran a red light, according to the officer.

The investigator conducted a traffic stop on Front Street and South Cameron. When the investigator made contact with Gonzalez the investigator detected an odor of marijuana.

Gonzalez does not have a drivers license.

After exiting the vehicle, the investigator patted down Gonzalez where he discovered a bulge in Gonzalez's pant leg. Inside the suspect's pant led were seven bags that contained marijuana. The marijuana weighed 65 grams.

Gonzalez was booked into the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with possession of marijuana and reckless driving.

According to the investigator, Gonzalez has previous convictions of possession of marijuana.
