Winners of the City of Alice's Special Election are Ron Burke for City Council Place 2 and Robert Molina for City Council Place 4.

Registered voters hit the polls on Saturday to cast their ballots.

For City's Place 2, there were 375 votes (29.57 percent) for Elida Garza, who was recalled in the Nov. 7 election, 127 votes (10.02 percent) for Tony Sexton, and 766 votes (60.41 percent) for Ron Burke, former councilman.

In the City's Place 4 race, Mauricio Garza II had 397 votes (31.06 percent) and Robert Molina had 881 votes (68.94 percent).

Winners of each place will finish the unexpired term left by Elida Garza and Yolanda Sosa Moran.

The City of Alice's Special Election was called by the Texas governor for Jan. 20 to fill two vacancies after Councilwomen Elida Garza and Yolanda Sosa Moran were recalled from their seats on Nov. 7.
