Early voting for the City of Alice's Special Election ended on Tuesday, Jan. 16 with approximately 623 registered voters casting their ballots.

Election Day is on Saturday, Jan. 20. That will be the final day to vote.

The special election was called by the Texas governor for Jan. 20 to fill two vacancies after Councilwomen Elida Garza and Yolanda Sosa Moran were recalled from their seats on Nov. 7.

Candidates running for City Place 2 are Elida Garza, who was recalled in the Nov. 7 election, Tony Sexton, and Ron Burke, former councilman.

City Place 4 candidates are Mauricio Garza II and Robert Ray Molina.

Winners of each place will finish the unexpired term left by Elida Garza and Yolanda Sosa Moran.

Alice Public Library - 401 East Third Street

Schallert Elementary School - 1001 Jim Wells

Nayer Elementary School Building - 501 Cactus Street

All polling places will be open from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. Election Day.
