Cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $429 in US currency was discovered at a home on the 1000 block of South Wright Street following a raid Thursday.

Ivy Molina Tamez, 21, was immediately detained at the home she shares with her 65-year-old grandmother.

The investigation at Tamez's residence when the department noticed suspicious activity in the area. Alice PD's Narcotics Division along with the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office utlized the Alice PD's SWAT team to gain entry to the home.

According to officials with the Alice PD's Narcotics Division, a search of the residence led officers to discover 7.53 grams of cocaine, two grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash in Tamez's bedroom and purse.

"Alice Police Department's Narcotics Division will continue to seek out persons that are selling narcotics within our community," said Lt. Luis Barrera with the Alice PD. "and continue to arrest the offenders."

Tamez took ownership of the drugs. She was transported to the JWC jail.

She was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.
