SAN DIEGO - San Diego Alumni recently got together for the annual basketball tournament. To enter in the tournament players donated a new unwrapped toy that would benefit local children.

After several rounds of basketball games, the winners for the fourth annual basketball alumni tournament received their medals.

"This year is the fourth annual basketball alumni (tournament) bringing in athletes from the 90s up to recent years," said Robert Valdez, organizer. "A total of 52 athletes participated."

Ashley Chapa and Billy Pardon were the three-point champions. They received a piece of the old San Diego High School gym which was recently demolished.

"The tournament gives the alumni a chance to reunite with classmates they haven't seen," Valdez stated.

First place winners were the Royal Team and Black Team received medals and bragging rights.

The toys went to the San Diego Fire Department and the San Diego Family Worship Center. The toys were distributed by Santa.
