CORPUS CHRISTI - Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred on Tuesday at approximately 6:58 a.m. on CR 69, approximately three and half (3.5) miles south east of Robstown in Nueces County.

Preliminary investigation revealed a gray 2003 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling east on FM 2826 (occupied by the driver and passenger). A white 2016 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling south on CR 69 (occupied by the driver only). The driver of the gray F150 failed to yield the right of way at the stop intersection to the white F150 traveling south on CR 69. The driver of the white F150 struck the driver side area of the gray F150 causing the gray F150 to overturn of the roadway.

The driver of the gray F150 was identified as Manuel Pena Jr., 56 years of age, resident of Robstown, Texas -driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Female passenger in the gray F150 was transported by Halo to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi with serious injuries but in stable condition. The driver of the white F150 was transported by EMS to Spohn Shoreline Hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers are further investigating the crash at this time.
