Two bags of cocaine, one bag of meth and $1,042 were confiscated during a raid at a residence on the 1700 block of Odilia Street that landed a couple behind bars.
Agents made their way to the residence Wednesday night in a neighborhood where most homes displayed Christmas lights and decorations. They stormed the residence to find 38-year-old Wayne Louis Benoit, his 29-year-old girlfriend Amanda Jo Trevino, and Benoit's teenage daughter.
A search of the home and the couples' vehicles lead to the discovery of narcotics and cash. K9s assisted in the search.
"The Alice PoliceNarcotic Division conducted this raid after a two month investigation, the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Department was invited with us and Brooks County Sheriff's (Department) to serve this warrant. More raids and Multi-agency investigations to follow," said Lt. Luis Barrera with the Alice PD. "The amount seized today will disrupt the activity in this neighborhood; the message to drug dealers is we will find you and you will be arrested."
Narcotic agents interrogated the couple before they were transported to the JWC jail.
The couple was charged with manufacturing and delivery of controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.
