MCALLEN - The Rotary Club of Alice received some awards for 2016 - 2017 at the "A Converstation with Paul Harris" in McAllen, Texas on Nov. 11.
Dee Dee Cantu Arismendez, 2017 - 2018 Rotary District 5930 Governor's Aide and Assistant Governor - Area 6, represented the Alice Rotary Club. Arismendez accepted the awards on behalf of the club.
The club received the Rotary Year 2016 - 2017 Ignite Premier Club Award and was number one in the Rotary District 5930; the top three Per Capita out of 52 clubs. The clubs that give at least $50 per capita to the annual fund are eligible. A club banner was given as a recognition.
The IGNITE is to facilitate the growth and retention of membership in South Texas Rotary District 5930, IGNITE, is recommended as the Best Practices Membership Program. The specific purpose of IGNITE is : Recruitment, Development, Retention, Membership Awards and Extension.
