Officers arrested an 18-year-old man who led police on a foot pursuit after he was observed pushing a wheel barrel down the Seventh and Kentucky Street.
Police spotted Raul Rios with a wheel barrow full of different items in a white shirt, red and black shorts, and black sandals.
According to police, Rios left the wheel barrel and sandals behind as he attempted to avoid being questioned. Rios took off running barefoot losing officers until a attentive citizen assisted police with Rios' direction.
Rios was located and handcuffed hiding in the bushes of a residence on the 200 block of West Seventh Street.
According to police, Rios broke into a home under construction and attempted to sale the stolen items.
Rios was transported to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with two counts of burglary of a building, evading arrest and failure to identify.
