Schallert Elementary hosted its annual Literacy Night on Tuesday, Oct. 10. During Literacy Night parents and guardians were invited to visit classrooms, chat with teachers, and sample some of the activities that students are doing in class associated with literacy.
Parents read books, spelling words, composing sentences, and even using technology to understand how their children learn literacy at school.
Several classrooms were available to choose from during the hour-long event and multiple sessions gave parents the opportunity to visit more than just one room.
The event started with a message from the principal, and ended with pizza and drinks available to all who attended.
Schallert Elementary will continue to invite the community to events such as this one to help parents, grandparents, and guardians understand the education that their children are receiving.
