Ranchers gathered at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds Wednesday for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

The ranch gathering had speakers who gave short presentations about how their company or organization has assisted the cattle raising industry.

Tana Simmons with Elanco gave a brief explanation about her company and some of the products they have that empower and enrich the lives of cattle.

Other speakers were Mac Young with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Dr. Brody Miller with Texas Animal Health Commission on the fever tick update and Jennifer Garcia with Farm Service Agency.

Special Rangers Steve Martin and Sonny Seewald were also in attendance.

JWC Sheriff Daniel Bueno also spoke about the department's free program for farmers and ranchers.

Sponsors were on hand with freebies and to assist ranchers with any information they may have needed.
