Schallert Elementary hosted a Family Movie Night on Friday, Sept. 29 with a 25-foot outdoor screen.

The outdoor screen was set up and families were encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, set up a spot and enjoy the movie on the back lawn of the school.

After a couple of days of rain, the weather finally cooperated and though gray clouds were in the air, the rain stayed away.

More than 200 people enjoyed the movie and without a Coyote football game, Schallert Movie Night was a perfect Friday night alternative, according to school officials.

A concession stand was available for anyone that wanted popcorn, pickles or even a slice of pizza. Overall, this was a great event that had great support from the community, school officials said.

Schallert Elementary will continue to involve the community as often as possible and is already working on planning the next big event.
