Hundreds of families lined up outside of the Women's Building at the JWC Fairgrounds on Saturday for the start of the 12th annual Back-to-School Bash hosted by the Jim Wells County Juvenile Probation Department.
The department gave out backpacks filled with basic school supplies such as spiral notebooks, paper and folders.
Businesses, churches and individuals from the community donated backpacks and school supplies. There was more than 40 vendors at this year's event.
Any remaining school supplies will be taken to school districts throughout Jim Wells County.
