Corpus Christi - The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, Child Protective Services and Child Care Licensing will host the 18th annual Grandparents and other Relatives Raising Children Conference at the American Bank Center.
The conference is on Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to the public at no cost.
The objective of the conference is to provide grandparents and other relatives with resources and information to ease the responsibility of rearing children.
Last year's conference provided over 400 participants with information on legal issues, school resources, social services and healthy lifestyles. Many local agencies provided exhibition booths with printed materials. There were also round table discussions to allow participants the opportunity to ask questions. The Grandparents and other Relatives Raising Children Steering Committee is committed to providing a top quality conference by building on suggested improvements based on last year's evaluations.
With a month away, the conference is still searching for anyone who would like to have a booth at the event. For more information contact Sonia Garza at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional sponsorship/exhibitor information.
