Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA), Court Daughters of St. Elizabeth of Hungary #2584, recently were awarded six “Circle of Love” awards at the 50th Biennial Texas State Court Convention held at Corpus Christi, American Bank Center, April 20 through 23.
CDA Courts are encouraged to serve their church, the order, court, and their community in the “Circle of Love,” areas of education, family, leadership, legislation, quality of life, spiritual enhancement and youth/JCDA.
CDA Court 2584 received six awards in Category II: first place - education; second place - leadership; second place - legislative; third place – quality of life; third place – spiritual enhancement; third place – youth/JCDA; and Read Across America Certificate. Court Regent Sandra Cantu entered a pencil drawing in the Adult Education – Art Division IV, and was awarded second place and a monetary award.
The “Circle of Love” program assists Catholic Daughters in working with the Church and community. “If we are to be ‘Jesus hands and feet’ as is pledged in the Act of Consecration during the Installation Ceremony, then we must use the talents He gave us, become educated in new fields, volunteer our services and financial assistance where needed,” as noted in www.catholicdaughters.org.
