San Diego Firefighters hosted a rescue apprentice school over the June 2 weekend.

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) and Emergency Services Training Institute (EST) facilitated the three-day course that focused on life-savings skills.

San Diego and Kleberg County Fire Departments participated in the course to learn proper techniques like patient packaging, patient triage, low angle rope rescue techniques and equipment usage that would mean life or death for individuals who need to be rescued.
