CORPUS CHRISTI – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced that office hours for the Corpus Christi Driver License Office will be reduced starting Monday, June 5. The new hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Monday through Friday, with the exception of Tuesday when the offices will be open until 6 p.m. This business decision and cost control measure at select offices will reduce increasing overtime costs.

The office (located at 3506 Twin River Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410) has convenient technology that allows customers to get in line before they arrive at the office. DPS encourages customers to take advantage of this convenient technology, by visiting https://www.dps.texas.gov/administration/driver_licensing_control/rolodex/search.asp (select the city, select your preferred location, and click the “Get In Line Online” button – or call the phone number listed to get in line via phone).

Many Texans are also eligible to skip the trip to a driver license office altogether by taking advantage of online services for driver license/ID card renewals, duplicates or address changes at https://texas.gov. Customers can also renew by phone at 1-866-357-3639. The eligibility requirements for phone renewal and online renewal are the same. The fee is the same for online, in-person and telephone renewals. Note: Customers may renew their driver license/Texas ID card one year early prior to their expiration date, which allows them to choose a convenient time that fits their schedule.
