Texas A&M AgriLife has announced their summer food program kicked off Monday, June 5 with four local sites providing snacks to children, ages 0 to 18, at no cost.

Roxanna Regino, food program coordinator, wanted to ensure that the children of Alice and surrounding communities had healthy snacks over the summer months.

Regino has family in Alice and understand that with the struggling economy families don't have enough to eat and since school is out many children are left without meals.
