San Diego – For the second year, San Diego ISD brought in several Vaquero alumni to speak with students as graduation approaches.

Juniors and seniors of San Diego High School listened to six individuals for the second annual Vaqueros Unite Presentation.

Ruben Salinas (2015), Zachary Pizzini (2013), Reynaldo Perez (2013), Ashley Gonzalez (2016), Julissa Lazo (2015) and Lindsey Garcia (2016) discussed their challenges while attending college. They gave advice on what to accept, how important a support system is, and how they learned to study and time management.

“It's alumni who graduated in the past five or six years who are willing to come back to give advice and words of wisdom,” said SDHD Principal Claudette Garcia.” They're people who walked in you shoes and can remember exactly how you felt.”

The alumni answered questions from the faculty and the students.
