The 2017 Lemonade Day had 10 teams out in Alice with lemonade stands on Saturday as they learned about how to manage a business while they earned money for a local charity.

First place team, The Lemonaders, raised $769.64 in the three-hour period at the designated location. The six-member winning team included Jacob De Leon, Mark Esparza, Abelino Benavides Jr., Briggs Hoffman, Noah Gonzalez and Christian Anguino.

The teams sold a total of $2,857.75. The 20 percent Alice Food Pantry donation totaled $1,185.85.

The project was underwritten by Texas Champion Bank and First Community Bank, each donating $500. Each team started with $50 to use for advertising and inventory.

After the three-hour period the teams packed up and met at the Alice Chamber of Commerce where the winning team was awarded Entrepreneurs of the Day plaques.

The teams consisted of The Lemonaders, Alpha Pack, Patriotic Lemonade, Lucky Lemonade, Lemon Drops, Chick with Sidekicks, Lemonade Twists, Jr. Lemonaders Team 1, Jr. Lemonaders Team 2 and Sassy Limonadas.

Second place team was Sassy Limonadas who raised $647. The third place team was Jr. Lemonaders Team 2 with $288.

Along with the lemonade sale the teams decorated their stands in honor of Armed Forces Day. First place for decorating team was Sassy Limonadas, second place was Alpha Pack and third place went to Lemonade Twists.

The teams were also judged on the taste of their lemonade. First place was Patriotic Lemonade, second place was Lemonade Twists and third place was Lucky Lemonade.
