Alice ISD School Board trustees were sworn in Wednesday, May 17 after canvassing the votes from Election Day.

New trustees Albert Molina and Margarito “Maggie” Perez Jr. along with incumbents Ben Salinas Jr. and Herman Arellano III raised their right hands to take the Oath of Office by School Attorney Jim Erck.

Molina replaces Servando “Wolf” Garza Jr. for place 3 and Perez takes place 7 in place of Mark Dominguez.

First order of business for the new school board with the reorganization of officers. Officers are president Ben Salinas, Anjanette Benavides as vice – president and secretary Herman Arellano III.

Dominguez and Garza were thanked for their service on the board. Garza had served eight years and Garza had served two years.

Other business on the board's agenda included the approval of the 2017 – 2018 dress code and the district calendar.
