A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Wednesday at approximately 4 p.m. when he was caught breaking side and back windows to an Alice police unit with a bat.
According to sources, an officer and a witness saw the juvenile in the act.
Sgt. Daniel Elizondo with the Alice Police Department heard several loud crashes and went to investigate.
Elizondo observed the boy who wore a red shirt ride away in a bike. The officer commanded the boy to stop, but he refused. Elizondo chased the boy and alerted other officers over the radio.
The juvenile was apprehended on the 300 block of Lucero Street. The juvenile was taken into police custody for processing.
According to sources, the boy was angry at his parents.
The juvenile was transported to the San Patricio Juvenile Detention Center. He was charged with criminal mischief.
