Downtown Alice will be filled with music and culture May 5 and 6 as part of the annual Cinco de Mayo Festival, sponsored by Tejano Roots.
The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. till midnight on Friday and 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday next to City Hall in downtown Alice.
This year will feature a backyard barbecue contest, live music and a kids barbecue contest. There will also be plenty of food, arts and crafts, a carnival and live music.
Tejano Roots Organization depends on sponsors to raise money for their annual awards ceremony and the operation of their museum.
The Cinco de Mayo is in memory of Oscar Rosas Jr.
