Fight over money

An argument Monday between a mother and her son sent one person to jail for assault. Officers were called to the 1100 block of Stongehinge Street for an assault that took place. When officers arrived they met with the reporting party and the victim. The victim stated Daniel Trevino III asked for money to purchase synthetic marijuana. Trevino became angry when the victim gave him money because it wasn't enough. According to the victim, Trevino punched her in the face several times after she refused to give him a ride. Trevino left the property, but was found at the intersection of West Seventh Street and Magnolia Street. As officers handcuffed Trevino he pulled away from them. Trevino was taken to the Jim Wells County jail. He was charged with assault on a family member causing bodily injury and resisting arrest.

Twice in one day

On Friday, April 28, officers were called to the area of Edith and Industrial for a man with no pants. When the responding officer arrived he found Julio Rodriguez laying on the side of the road with his pants falling down. Rodriguez attempted to conceal a bag of synthetic marijuana. He was transported to the JWC jail and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Rodriguez was arrested for the second time of Friday when officers found him asleep on the 100 block of West Eighth Street. Rodriguez was in possession of a white grocery bag that contained synthetic marijuana and a synthetic marijuana cigarette. Once again he was taken back to the JWC jail.
