The 14th Annual STARS Scholarship Extravaganza was celebrated on Wednesday, March 15.

The highlight of the night was a performance by stand-up comedian and longtime host of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno, at the Selena Auditorium.

Leno had the audience laughing for the more than one hour show.

Guest Speaker was a former STAR's recipient, Stephanie Harlien, who is currently a St. Mary's University School of Law student and Corpus Christi high school graduate.

She spoke on how the scholarship had enabled her to attend college and first generation to graduate from college.

Board Member Tony LaMantia gave the welcoming and the National Anthem was sung by Janell Stallard, a student at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.

A live auction included various trips and Spur game that raised money for the STARS program. VocaLibre, a swing a cappella choir, opened up for Leno.
