Brenda Lee Sanchez, age 41, passed away February 7, 2017 in Houston, Texas surrounded by her family. She was born May 8, 1975 in Alice, Texas to Matias Briones and Anita Nora Rangel. Brenda previously attended San Diego High School and Bee County College of Alice, Texas. Brenda worked at Silvas, The Cash Store, Murphy’s and Wells Fargo Bank until her illness. She enjoyed eating at different places and was a very social person. Brenda was known for her kind character, always going out of her way to do special things for others. She knew the exact thing to do and say to touch someone’s heart, like acquiring something someone had seen or mentioned and giving it to them with great love and without expecting something in return. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Matias Briones; maternal grandparents, Enriqueta and Alberto Pena; paternal grandparents, Matias and Maria Luisa Briones; mother in law, Maria Del Carmen Sanches; brothers in law, Ramiro Sanchez, Armando Sanchez, Adrian Sanchez, and Homero Sanchez; and great aunt, Soila Torres.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Mario Sanchez of Alice, Texas; one son, Mario Sanchez Jr. of Alice, Texas; one daughter, Brittany Lee Monsevais (Raul) of Alice, Texas; her mother, Anita Nora Rangel of San Diego, Texas; her step-mother, Nelda Hinojosa (Rene) of San Diego, Texas; two brothers, Ruben Garza (Josie) and Matias “Chicho” Briones both of San Diego, Texas; two sisters, Suzanne Garza and Angelica Briones both of San Diego, Texas; father in law, Pablo Sanchez of Alice, Texas; brothers in law, Paul Sanchez (Alma) of Alice, Texas, Richard Sanchez (Isabel) of Castroville, Texas, Nani Sanchez (Vicki) of Alice, Texas, Jose Luis Sanchez (Andrea) of Austin, Texas, Esteban Sanchez (Angie) of Alice, Texas; sisters in law, Norma Jean Blanco (Vidal) of Alice, Texas, Cynthia Cano (Ernest) of Alice, Texas, Olga Gonzalez of San Antonio, Texas, Gracie Sanchez of Alice, Texas, Maggie Molina (Ismael III) of Alice, Texas; great uncle, Benito Torres Sr. of Alice, Texas; her two guiding lights – her grandchildren, Ricardo Jerardo Gonzalez and Raelynn Gabriella Monsevais; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5 till 9 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. that evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Roberson Collins Cemetery.
