The Alice Coyotes missed an opportunity to pick up a North Zone win in District 30-5A Tuesday night.

Playing at home against Gregory-Portland, the Wildcats narrowly edged the Coyotes, 50-47.

Coming into Tuesday's game, the Wildcats were in fourth place in the North Zone with a 2-4 mark. Alice was fifth with a 1-5 record. With the win, Gregory-Portland remained on the bubble to claim one of the zone's top three positions. Before Tuesday night, Millers leads the Zone with a 6-0 record followed by Ray at 5-1. Tuloso-Midway was third at 3-2.

Alice is playing on the road against Calallen Friday night.
