San Diego, Texas -  Ignacio "Nacho" S. Luera, Sr., 69 years old passed Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in a San Antonio hospital after a short illness. He was a retired concrete construction worker. He was a devoted catholic and a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Tomasa Tanguma Luera, four brothers, Luis Felipe Luera, Daniel Luera, Pascual Luera and Miguel Luera, Jr., three sisters, Olga Sanchez, Estella Luera Garza and Norma Luera Serna, one grandchild, Baby Nathaniel Luera. He is survived by his wife, Aida L. Luera of San Diego, Texas, five sons, Ignacio S. (Amadita) Luera, Jr., of San Diego, Texas, Arnold (Sonia) Lozano of Killeen, Texas, Ricardo (Yvette) Luera of San Antonio, Texas, Rafael Lozano and Joe (Bea) Lozano both of San Diego, Texas, one daughter, Lucia (Fred Barber) Luera of San Diego, Texas,  one sister, Eva (Jose) Tagle of Corpus Christi, Texas, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. at Mauro P. Garcia Funeral Home in San Diego with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in San Diego, Texas.
