Luis Octavio Jimenez was arrested Monday on the 300 block of North Cameron for a crime that occurred in October 2016. According to the initial police report, the victim contacted police when he noticed two unauthorized transactions make with his bank account. The victim told police he deposited money at an ATM, left and when he arrived home he noticed a withdrawal of $300 and a transaction of $3. Jimenez was charged with credit card/debit card abuse. He was taken to the Jim Wells County jail.
A business on the 2000 block of Highway 281 filed a theft report Monday after an employee noticed approximately 300 feet of power lead wire was cut and taken. The wire was removed from three separate rigs on the property. According to the employee, the wire is valued at $25 per foot. No arrests have been made. While on patrol Saturday an Alice police officer noticed a car with a defective headlight on Highway 281. When the officer approached the vehicle he observed a man, later identified as Juan Miguel Marquez Jr. slumped over the wheel with the ignition running. The officer turned off the car when he noticed a bag of synthetic marijuana in the passenger seat. Marquez awoke and told the officer he had smoked the narcotic two hours prior to the traffic stop. Marquez was arrested and transported to the JWC jail. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
