In order to raise awareness for breast cancer and domestic violence several people in pink and purple attended the Alice Mother's Club 16th annual Healing (Heeling) walk.
The event took place on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Indigo Bar and Grill located at 711 East Main Street. Proclamations by Alice Mayor Ike Ornelas kicked off the event followed by a prayers for survivors and their families.
“There are many, many individuals affected by breast cancer,” said Nena Pitts-Castillo. “The more awareness we have the more we can minimize our (domestic violence) victims and minimize our (breast cancer) patients through early prevention.”
